We spent a couple of nights in Sequoia National Park. It lies on the western slopes of the Sierra Nivada and are the ideal location for the Sequoia tree to grow. General Sherman is the Biggest of the monsters. Their ages range from 100s to 3,000 yrs old.

We had a couple of days camping and the gear and kit worked out well. With the RV mentality though, this meant that for the mere campers the closest showers were 8 miles away. With the black bears in the area any whiff of food means that there are no wash up facilities for pots and pans. So all abit rustic but Lara did well and I got soft when I went for a ride, drove to the showers and then they were closed for maintenance.

We left the park and headed up to meet Lara's family in yosemite. On the way up we were first on the scene to a pretty horrific accident. A guy must have dosed off, went onto the verge, over corrected and veered off at 90 degrees and some real pace down a ravine. I think, lucky for him, he was thrown from the vehicle which was totally mangled, and let's leave it at, he was not in good shape. I spent the rest of the journey reminding myself to drive on the right hand side of the road.

From rustic, we are lying at the side of the pool in 5 star luxury.
