It has been a few days since updating everyone. Unfortunately I can not report that we have found our baby, she is still missing in action and we have exhausted our ideas on what else we can do. A wonderful woman who saw our ad on Craigslist called us and brought us her infrared camera for us to use this weekend to look for her at night, as well as a humane trap for us to try and trap her (we got another neighborhood cat last night - who let me tell you was none too happy). Steve went out last night with the camera and discovered hiding spaces for every other cat in the 'hood. No sign of our beloved 'Cocoa'.
To keep my mind off of everything I swooped in on Judith and Richard's kitchen and those who know me and my organizational skills, I began ripping everything apart (with Judith's assistance) and we re-organized the kitchen...and folks, why stop there, their garage was in need of a makeover so why not organize a yard/garage sale...so this weekend (today we were open from 9 - 2, with many people coming at 7:30) we are conducting the yard sale. We had great 1st day of the sale and they were happy with the results. They are now going around the house looking for stuff for tomorrow. Those who were around us the last week before we left know what it was like to have so much stuff to get rid of and how good it feels to have less. So needless to say, I am exhausted but at least we feel like we have been valuable guests here for Judith and Richard. Judith suffers from Lymphoma and often is too tired to take on such projects...so I really feel like we were needed here for this time to assist her and Richard in tasks that they may not have been able to do without our assistance.
We have some other sad news to report. One of the dogs at the Wilson Zoo has passed away. Abby was 13 and she is the dog that I had asked "Gund toy or Real Dog". She was the sweetest dog. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Steve's father has now been moved from PEI to Halifax (he is in the Abby Lane). He is not doing very well and we are considering going back to Nova Scotia after arriving in Vancouver to see him - hopefully seeing Steve might help him...I know he was missing us a lot before we even left Halifax. Then with his sister dying only a week or so later. We are planning on leaving her on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. We will come back in the spring - I am sure they will have more for us to do by that time.
We have been looking for apartments in Vancouver and are fairly confident that we are going to settle into Port Moody, but we will see when we get there.
Dinner is just being served, so I have to go...sorry no photos today but will get some in the next day or so to post.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers for us finding Cocoa and for Steve's Dad - we are not giving up on finding Cocoa.

Missing you already.
Well, you haven't even left yet but we're going to miss you so much. Hopefully we'll see you again in this Spring and yes, we'll have stuff to do, like say, sight seeing? We'll have fun and NO WORK! We can't begin to thank you enough for all your hard work. Call me and I'll meet you in Vancouver to help unpack the trailer.
It is so upsetting to lose Cocoa while here. Know that we will continue the search while you're gone.
Remember there is always a room here for you guys to stay. We'd love you to figure out a way to live here for a while.
Have a safe journey and come back soon.
Judith
