As mentioned in the blog yesterday, the number of hummingbirds here are amazing. Anne and Leonard have put hummingbird feeders on several windows and around the patio along with many types of flowers that hummingbirds are attracted to. At any given time you can see so many it is difficult to count them. As I sit here writing this I can see eight or ten fluttering (more like zinging) around the patio. I could sit and watch them for hours.
In addition to the hummingbirds they have finches and other species of birds. It is a little hot (92 degrees) to sit outside at the moment, so I am observing the wildlife from the comfort of the air-conditioned sunroom.
Last night we went out to Anne and Leonard's favorite Mexican Restaurant. Their son-in-law Jeff joined us along with another friend Dave Hill - both of their wives are out of town this weekend and they are batching it
Jeff and Tanya (Leonard's daughter) have a beautiful home on the mountain, overlooking Huntsville. They are in the process of building a pool and guest house. Both work from home offices doing contract IT work after both retired from the military...in the photo, Anne is sitting at Tanya's desk in her downstairs office.
Today is another day for relaxing. We are going to be taking a trip to Costco to see about getting Anne a new laptop. Steve and I will assist in getting her files moved over (we have to earn our keep somehow). Steve needs a quick fix of IT work - he misses everyone at Prudential.
WIth the Hurricane Gustav getting ready to hit the US Gulf Coast, we are watching the weather to see when it would be best for us to leave...there is no sense in getting caught in the storm, so we will be here for another day or two by the looks of things. Will keep you posted.

The Patio
. After eating we went over to Jeff's place for Steve to see his 1970 Boss 302 Mustang (estimated value of $120,000) - Steve was impressed to say the least.
