Hi all, &n bsp; &n bsp; &n bsp; &n bsp; &n bsp; &n bsp; &n bsp; Tuesday 10 April & nbsp;
Well we have finally made it to Europe. After 20 hours of flying it was good to finally touch down in Frankfurt at 7am. The flight over was pretty good, decent food glad we paid extra for Qantas! I had my travel sickness tablets and got to sleep straight after dinner and dessert (it was an ice cream that was WAY too cold and i got my lips stuck to the ice block and ripped half my lip off!!!) Poor Colin didn´t get much sleep. We got to Singapore for a 20min stopover and I went to a squat toilet its an experience!! After arriving in Frankfurt and adjusting to the cold (which it is cold), we caught a bus to the train station and then a train to the city itself. Bit of an experience with the language barier, lucikly most people speak english (although very broken but you can work it out).
After getting off the train in Frankfurt we made our way to our hotel to leave our bags until check in which was about 2 hours. You know your in Europe after passing a sex shop and brothel on every corner on the way to the hotel. We left our bags and walked around the streets of Frankfurt. We grabbed a cheese pretzel for brekkie and walked for miles in the freezing cold. We eventually checked in to our room and after a shower and a brush of the teeth crashed out (for about 4 hours). We then went for another walk to the main square where we settled in to a Pub for a quite beer in the afternoon sun. The beer here is big and goes down way too easy. Tameka even had a beer and enjoyed it. We had a schnitzel for dinner before walking around the city some more.
Everyone rides bikes and walks around here no wonder you dont see many fatties (the fatties are prob tourists!!) We´ll just have to work out how many beers, deep fried foods, breads and pastas to how many k´s we have to walk or ride a bike so we dont come back woddling! The city itself is made up of beautiful narrow cobblestone streets, beautiful old buildings, churches, fountains and statues. We cant seem to escape the junkies, alcos and mental people. Today we were approached by a couple of bums. Dont know what they wanted or said but we are guessing they were bumming money or a cigarette. We are leaving tomorrow morning for Munich where we will be staying for a couple of days. Will speak to you all soon.
Lots of Love Tameka and Colin
