Well, the best laid plans are in place. My outer layer is raw as each piece of me was peeled offin saying goodbye to the people I adore. "Lasts" lasted a long time, but were oh, so good. Thank you to all of you who sent emails, dropped in, spoiled me, treated me with the most thoughtful gifts, and to those of you who sat with me during the madness of packing. Even on the last night, Cindy and Annick went through all the stuff and edited me one last time. I'm down to a manageable bag and the necessities of life, of course, that's relative. BUT the boots are in the BAG!!!
I made it to Toronto yesterday evening after a suprisingly calm train trip. I've only required deep breathing techniques once today. The only event to report is that upon opening my little bottle of ginger ale, it exploded all over me. Fortunately, the nice teacher (surprised?) next to me had a package of baby wipes (Trista, now your laughing!). So, I cleaned myself off and we chatted about school and, of course, the difficult times she had recently when she had to put her beloved dog down (surprised?). Ah, Life!!
Today, I think of all my people at Symmes who are back at work. I know you had a great breakfast with loads of laughs and that this year will be your best. Today, I am not a teacher, but a maker of brochettes as I prepare part of the meal for tonight. A McGowan family wing-ding is on the agenda where I will be able to touch base with many from my mom's side of the family before heading off. Have a wonderful year, coigreach

Hi Allison,
I was flipping through my date book and came across your info for how to reach you. Sad to hear about Tonto - we have a mama dog (not ours!) who has 8 puppies living under our house. I know how special Northern dogs are.
How is it? Miss the thought of you at accompaniment.
I am looking for someone (would be you in you were here) to come and work with our board for a few days on LES and how it differs from PBL. Any good names??
My trip to Europe was great!!! Can't wait to see how yours goes.
P.S. I am still running - run in a great place just for me!!!
