So... we get to the Port of Anchorage and I knew things were going too well.  We get there, and being the honest person I am, I declare that we have guns in the truck - and tell him that our plan is to unload the guns into the taxi when we drop the truck off and then take them to the airport. He was really nice and called a supervisor to check, unfortunately guns are allowed under no circumstances in the port as it is controlled by the Coast Guard. So we turn around and formulate a quick plan: We'll head to the airport, I'll check my bag and gun then I'll drop Chris off and take the truck back sans firearms.

By now it's around 2:45. The truck has to be dropped off by 4 and I'm starting to worry a little. The plan is going well... I dropped my stuff off and then Chris dropped his off and I headed back to the Port. Thankfully Security believed me (Chris thought I'd have to undergo a
full inspection because I was honest with them... thankfully our boys
in blue are a little more understanding).I got lost a little in the terminal - TomTom apparently does not know how to navigate the confusing maze that is the Port of Anchorage! No worries, the truck is done and it's driven off toward the ship. Whew!

I hop a cab back to the airport and make it there with plenty of time left! Except for a near complete pat-down from a very embarrassed looking young man. After he's certain I'm not packing any kind of explosives, I board the plane toward Seattle!

Glad you made it through without too much trouble. Better than if you'd been trying to drive through Canada or something. Yikes! I had to ship my gun to a dealer when I moved up here since I was doing that.

Safe travels for you!
