Drove along a C road which was like the back of beyond, bus shook up and down and gave us a pretty rough massage.
REd sand hills have gone and been replaced by granite outcrops and gorges.  The country is some of the most desolate that you can imagine and as we got closer to the coast all vegitation dissappeared.  Walvis Bay and Swakopmund much colder and windier and wilder(people).  Nearly got run down by a wild motorist who wasn't concentrating.
The hotel is the old railway station and is a very elegant old style hotel.  For breakfast they had everything, including steak, chicken, smoked salmon and local oysters!!  One of the travellers had half a Doz, Jeff had one, I couldn't bring myself to have oysters for breakfast.
2nd Day.  Went on a boat trip along the coast all morning, had seals jumping on board for a cuddle and picture and they were rewarding with a feed of fish.  Saw pelicans, dolphins, flamingo and hundreds, maybe thousands of smelly seals.
In the afternoon we took a scenic flight back over much of the country we have travelled, the dunes, the coast and the rugged terrain.  Saw ship wrecks, gorges and flamingos and a hell of a lot of sand dunes of various colours.  Fast running out of gin which we hop to remedy at the earliest opportunity.  Can't help but feel that we have seen this country at th right time, tourism is going to go mad in the next 10 years.
As an aside - Namibia has 50% unemployment no social security and 27% HIV.
