Where I stayed
I had the perfect location. I had the perfect setting sun. I had the perfect cloud cover. And I wasn't in the mood to take pictures.
I took over three hundred pictures tonight. I still wasn't in the mood to take pictures. I'm sure most nature photographers would have done pretty well anything to have what I had tonight. You can wait a long time to have the stars align for what I had tonight. I should have been ecstatic. But I wasn't.
My heart and soul weren't even there. They were MIA for some reason or other.
My drive this morning to Tofino was great
When I went online to check out accommodations, the first few hotels I checked had prices of over $200 per night. Then one place caught my eye. Their website mentioned their Ashram Spa. I've been reading Eat, Pray, Love and Elizabeth Gilbert spent 4 months at an Ashram in India. Then I knew I had found the perfect spot. I called and they quoted their price (below $200 per night) and they said they had room at the Inn for the two nights I wanted. Then when I confirmed I wanted to reserve the room they indicated the price would be even lower. I live a Charmed life!
After my zig-zaggiddy drive I arrived at the Cable Cove Inn. It has only 7 rooms. All of them have views of the Ocean. Check out the pictures of the room and the view from my deck and even when I'm lying in bed. Freakin' Awesome!
After checking in I went for a walk around Tofino. I started off by stopping for lunch. There was one problem. The power had gone off in the whole town and the waterfront restaurant I stopped in wouldn't sit me until the power came back on
I continued on my walk and ended up at the beach that I decided I had to come back to and take the sunset pictures. It was quite cloudy out at this time but I knew that after supper it would clear up. Actually. I thanked God, the Tao, What? Is!, etc, at this time for the beautiful sunset I would have later this evening.
I went back to my room and read for a while then drove to the beach at the far end of town.
After taking all of three hundred or so pictures I drove back to my room. I decided to soak in the whirlpool tub. I still felt soul-less and heart-less. I lit a few candles, turned off the lights, added some bath salts, and lay in the tub while listening to a relaxation CD I had brought.
As I was laying in the tub my heart and soul came back
They were at the same beach as I was but they had been cuddling along the shore with my Dream Girl's soul. Lucky souls! So while I'm taking pictures of the sunset in Paradise, my Dream Girl's Soul, and my Soul are out on a date. I guess that makes sense. They should get to know each other before we physically meet. I keep on calling the woman of my dreams a "girl", but I can guarantee you that she's all "woman"!
So that was my first day in Tofino!
