My Health SUCKS!
Now everybody knows why I haven't written anything lately. I've spent some of my days since my last post in bed because I'm always exhausted. One of the symptoms of whatever condition I have. It feels like I haven't slept in a month. Because my hands, arms, legs, and feet hurt I wake up quite often every night. I would describe how they hurt but it's a feeling that can't be described. It's not like...I dropped something on my toe!...kind of hurt, or a...My head is pounding!...headache kind of hurt either. It would be like trying to describe God after seeing him in heaven and coming back down to earth. Human words wouldn't come close to describing what you saw. Or maybe they would...but I doubt it. How can I describe a feeling to other people when nothing, that I've experienced, compares to it. Do all headaches feel the same? No. But most people who have migraines have an idea what it feels like. Those who don't haven't the faintest idea. They think it might be like a regular headache...but only worse. Which is wrong. Or so I think!
Another symptom of my condition is brain fog. Try writing stuff when you always have the word you know you want to use somewhere just outside the reach of your consciousness. That's how it's been during this whole Journey, only worse this week. I have an amazing memory...at least I used to.

So I've been out a few times to take pictures. See the coast. Talk to a few people. See more airplanes. Stay indoors during all the rain. Try and stay warm...relatively speaking. I won't get any sympathy from most of you if I say it went down to -4 last night. I know it was -40 with the wind chill in Winnipeg.
Day whatever last week I drove up the Emerald Coast to take some pictures and see the sites. Drove east for about an hour and a half...75 kms or so. Stopped at Destin. Started chatting with an old couple from Ontario...northeast of Toronto. They've been coming here for 20 years. It was just a tiny fishing village then. Now they have these monstrosities called hotels lining the beach. Back then the landlord at the place they were staying at offered to sell them the place instead of them paying rent every year. They declined. Rent now is 4 times more expensive. Then they indicate that they had bought a hobby farm just outside Toronto in 1975 for $35,000. They sold it for a $ million. Not bad. They come down for a couple of months every year. Longer is too much.
That same day I took a drive west of the campground where the bridge is to get to Navarre Beach which is across the Inter coastal waterways from the campground. I was going to take some sunset pictures of the Gulf of Mexico but decided to stop on the bridge as I figured I'd get better shots. As you'll see the shots are quite good, though I have this guy taking pictures in most of them...and that guy is not me! After the sun sets this guy comes up to the bridge and we start chatting. He lives in Pensacola and is a fencing contractor. His photography is a hobby. Though he does take photos for his church and others. He wants to stop doing the manual labour soon and get into photography full time.
The next day it was raining and I started feeling worse. The day after that I hit rock bottom. Started reading a new book somewhere during this period. A History of God. The first few chapters have been quite interesting. This second day I tried going out. I was going to go to the Naval Aviation Museum west of Pensacola. I drove for half an hour then turned around. I stayed in bed most of the day. Yesterday I finally made it to the Aviation Museum. It's located on the Naval Base. They checked my driver's license and let me through. Not too sure if they ever refuse anyone. Naval aviation is different from land based aviation. Landing on a moving target that's the length of 3 football fields isn't quite the same as landing on an airstrip that's 10 times longer and doesn't bob in the water.
I learned quite a bit during this visit. They had a History Chanel movie going on that talked about the way they trained Navy Pilots during WWII to land on an Aircraft carrier. They couldn't use a real carrier so they modified a Paddlewheel Showboat on Lake Michigan outside of Chicago, constructed a shortened flight deck, and thousands of Pilots were able to practice landing on a floating runway. Numerous planes ended up in Lake Michigan and were salvaged numerous years later and are now on display in the Museum.
I also saw an IMAX movie about Operation Red Flag. It's a multinational fighter pilot training program using live ammunition. The USA started this in 1975 and a few years later Canada started a similar program called Maple Flag that takes place in Cold Lake Alberta. Other nations now have similar programs.
The Museum had numerous models of a majority of the Aircraft Carriers the USA has had over the years. I was surprised at the number of carriers the US has had and still has in operation.
I am going to cut it short today even though I would like to write a lot more. I am back on the road tomorrow morning. Bright and early. I have to be in mid-Alabama at my next stop quite early so that I can go visit a TV Station. More on that later. I've been seesawing about going to Nashville this week. The weather predictions are for below freezing temperatures every day. This worries me as I don't want the water pipes in the trailer to freeze as I'm travelling. But I've decided to take my chances.
Ah Yes! My Health Sucks !   ...but I would be stuck working in an office if it didn't.Gotta take the bad with the good.

Re: Have you considered...?
Thanks for the info. Not at this time. Anti-inflammatorys don't work for what's bothering me at this time. I've tried.

Thanks for the thoughts. Glad you are writing again. Hope the move went well and you are settling into life with a bunch of people.
