Yesterday, my day started off with rain and ended up with....SUN! I drove the cross-country route to get to the campground in southeast Orlando. I decided to by-pass the Interstate route. The first part of the route was very rough. I was following this truck that was limiting its speed to a 45 miles per hour due to the rocky roads. I was watching him bounce around as I did the same. This road took me around Lake Okeechobee. This route was though numerous sugar cane fields and orange groves. There wasn't much traffic either...which was nice. It also came from a direction that took me directly to the campground without passing through any built up areas. I had had enough of that 2 days ago!
Once set up at the campground I took a drive to the Time-share resort (a 30 minutes drive on the Toll highway). I had called them last week to ask if they had room for me to park my trailer. The woman I talked to sounded a little unsure but said there would be room in the main parking lot. I would make alternate arrangements with the campground to leave the trailer there for the week as we will be staying there for a few days after the week at the resort. The Resort is fairly new and includes a couple of hotels that are still under construction. So the parking lots are basically empty. Which gives me a lot of room to manoeuvre. That is always a good thing.
I talked to the check-in staff and asked them when is the earliest I can check in. They indicated the suite (on the main floor) was occupied with check-out at 10 am. They would put a rush on the cleaning and have the room ready for noon so that I can get in early (usually 4 PM). Nick's plane was scheduled to arrive at 1h15. As I'm writing this he text messaged me to indicate that the plane would be delayed about 45 minutes. Katrine and Alexis arrived at 7 o'clock tomorrow night.
I've checked the Resort's website and they indicate that there is wireless internet access by the pool. There is also internet access in the rooms. I won't promise many updates but check back every few days and you might find out what we've been up to.
Gotta run. Tiime to pack up the trailer and move it to the resort.
