This will be a short update...maybe. By the map pin you should be able to guess where I am. It's taken me 2 1/2 weeks to get to where I could have been in 4 hours of driving if I hadn't made that left turn towards Lake Placid. But as they say...It's the Journey and not the destination that matters. It's been one heck of a Journey the past couple of weeks.

The water is turned off, it's raining and even though they advertise wireless internet, I feel like I'm the guy in the cell phone commercial standing on the fence post trying to get some reception. If I position the laptop just right, this is working. So, I'll be saving often and hope that I don't lose anything.

I had the second worse driving day on my Journey. It was mostly on the Interstate.  Campgrounds that are open were difficult to find between where I was and where I was hoping to be. I knew I'd have a long driving day so I stuck to the Interstate, though I knew it would be more stressful. I  might be a slow learner....but I am learning. I don't believe everything the GPS says...anymore. It was suppose to be the "faster" route that it was showing me. Since I'm learning that that might not always be true, I checked what route it was showing on a paper map , before actually getting there. Well....the route it said was fastest was going right through the Bronx and downtown Manhattan. Not good, even if it would have been lunch time. So I turn off at a northern Interstate bypass, and the GPS says the additional distance is 2 miles and 2 minutes.

I'm staying put tomorrow but they are predicting more rain so I'm not too sure how much sighseeing I'm going to do. I'll let you all know.

That's all for now. Have an awesome weekend wherever you may be!
