had recommended that we take the ferry to Provincetown from Plymouth instead of
doing the 2 hour drive up the Cape with everybody else. We figure it will be a
good day to just lie on the beach...pack our swimsuits and towels. The ferry
leaves at 10...2 hour trip. 4 hours there and then 2 hours back. It's foggy
out...can hardly see anything around the ferry. Go outside to the front of the
boat. The Captain announces over the loudspeaker that he gives numerous foghorn
warnings due to the dense fog...doesn't want to give anyone a heart attack
into Provincetown and it's cloudy and a little bit foggy. It's lunch time so we
grab a bite to eat. Since we're in a fishing village might as well have fish.
Lunch over, still cloudy, we tour the town. Streets are narrow, houses old with
a lot of character, lots of beautiful flowers. Main Street is filled with
artist shops...paintings, photos, ceramics...all made locally. The sun comes
out and it gets very hot. We decide to skip the beach and just explore the
town. One artist painted the doors to his/her house in various psychedelic
colours. It's time to get back to the ship. Take a lot of pictures leaving
Provincetown Harbour and when we arrive back in Plymouth.
