Where I stayed
Don't ask me, squished Armadillos can't talk.
Yes, the poor, hapless, armadillos never made it across the highway. I did see quite a few of them squished on the side of the road. And I never did see any "Watch for Armadillo" crossing signs.
In yesterday's entry I talked about the physics of towing a trailer and what can happen when you don't follow those laws. Using mathematics, we could determine every single possibility of speed, wind and other factors that could occur to ensure that a mishap did not happen. These would be the best possible scenarios. Crashing is always bad, unless you are a Hollywood stunt director and then you use those parameters to ensure the crash does occur as required.
As towers of trailers we don't need to know how to calculate these probabilities and parameters. We're not all physicists or math geniuses. There's a single page user guide that comes with the electronic brake controller that outlines what to do in the majority of situations if the trailer starts behaving in an uncontrolled manner. To ensure that that does happen, we must first ensure that the installation and set up was done correctly. That can be done by an expert installer. Then usage is easy.
Now what about life? Bet you were wondering where I was going with this.
What if there are laws about how life is, and can be lived so that it's easy and fun and the installer has programmed "life" to be that way. Unfortunately someone has lost the user manual. We wouldn't need to know what all these laws are and how they work, specifically, just that they do. We would have confidence in the builder of this "life" system. We (OK, most of us) take it for granted that when we get into an airplane that it will get off the ground and we will arrive at our destination safely. We don't care about lift and drag, how the airplane was built and at what speed the engine needs to be for it to get off the ground. Others have done that. We have faith in the airplane designers and builders and the pilot.
So why don't we have faith in the builder and designer of our life that things will turn out the way it should? Why don't we believe that those "learning" experiences are there for us to grow and become who we are meant to be? Why don't we believe that if we did have faith, complete faith, in this designer, builder and operator of our life that we would have an amazing life?
Why? Because someone lost the original owners manual.
Since the time this owners manual was lost various individuals have started piecing it back together. Some have done a pretty good job with parts 1 & 3. And others have parts 2 & 6 almost complete. Part 4 is still missing. Someone has taken part 3, revised it a few times and now it doesn't look at all like what the original writer wrote and what it should be. Bet he would be pissed off if he saw what they did with it. Then part 1 has had someone interpret what was originally written and now it's a mess of instructions where the original message is hidden within the whole.
So here we are living a life with all this conflicting and incomplete information. No wonder we're all living in fear and wonder about the future. The incomplete or erroneous information out there, the experiences we see others having who use this information, and our own experiences using this information that we are taught from a young age, make us disbelieve that there really are laws that ensure that life does behave in a certain way. An airplane can crash if there's a build up of ice on the wings. It changes the original design parameters.
What we require is a copy of the original "life" users manual.
What if someone was able to piece together all the information that was in this original manual. Would we believe the information in this re-created manual? What credentials does the author of this book have? What has he done to prove that this information is factual?
There are too many people who are taking the existing, partial, information as gospel. They don't believe that anything is missing or has been misinterpreted over the years. Others are happy living the life that they are, though maybe not to the extent that they could. Then there are those who are waiting for this information because they have a feeling deep inside of them telling them that this information is out there.
My question is, What needs to happen for us to believe that this re-created manual is the true "life" user manual?
Think It! Feel It! Live It!
...back in the saddle again. I love my life!!
