Where I stayed

I made last nights stop where I did for a reason. Today I had to make a detour south towards the US border. South east of Quebec City is a town called Lac Etchemin. My mother asked me to stop there at Spiri-Maria, the home of the Community of the Lady of all Peoples. I have a second cousin who is a priest there and my mother has been part of this community for over thirty years.

She tried for years to get me involved but it wasn't for me. There were bigger plans for me.

The detour might have started off as a favour to my mother but it ended up being so much more. I stayed and chatted with Father Norm (hope he doesn't mind me calling him that) for over 3 hours. He explained what they did, their purpose and talked about Marie-Paul who founded the community.

I found what he had to say quite fascinating and I saw something that blew my mind (that has to do with a book I just finished reading and a book that I just started reading that was given to me by Professor M in St. John's). My mother had mentioned something to me about the changes in the church and I wrote about some of it in my business blog (at that time I tried separating my travels from my philosophy).

Well, the time isn't right for me to tell the whole story and when the time is right it'll end up on my business blog. Check out the first blog if you're interested

Also, check out the community's website. Maybe you'll find something of interest

I stayed a lot longer then I had expected to and the 100 km detour added a couple of hours of driving time to get to Montreal. I ended up setting up the trailer in the dark. Which is something I have rarely done. Things you do for your mom.

The information I received was worth the detour and the late set-up.
