We said goodbye to PEI today.

We crossed the Confederation Bridge with the wind howling and rocking the trailer. We stopped at the Nova Scotia Welcome Center and I realized why the truck was having a hard time pulling the trailer up those hills we came across. The fuel gauge was also dropping faster than usual...probably the worse gas mileage of the trip. The wind was quite strong, a precursor to the hurricane winds that are expected this weekend from Hurricane Bill. Better batten down the hatches!

Alexis is down to her last couple of days out East. She flies home on Friday. She has mixed emotions. She loves to travel but is missing her friends at home and her own bed. I'll miss her when she's gone. But I'll be able to catch up on some work then.

After setting up at the campground north of Halifax we drove back south to the downtown harbour front. The plan was to walk around for a couple hours and then have the city done and do some coastal touring tomorrow for Alexis last day.

Alexis had been watching the DVDs of "The Long Way Down" in the car today. This is the motorcycle diary trip of Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman from upper Scotland to the bottom tip of South Africa. She had watched part of the 10-part series at home and wanted to finish it. She had a few episodes left and continued watching at the campground until we left (suppertime).

And so, she was hungry by the time we got to Halifax. She was hungry for meat...real meat. So we found a nice pub and had an amazing steak dinner (with Alberta beef). For those wondering how does a 14 year old get into a pub, the answer is...everybody thinks she's over 18.

Once supper was done it was dark. A little difficult for taking pictures. So we went back to the camper and said we'd come back tomorrow...after seeing Peggy's Cove (can't come to Nova Scotia without going there).
