Check-out at the B&B was 10h30. I wanted to go see the town of Carlisle and it's Castle. I talked to the owner and he said he'd keep my stuff and I could leave my motorbike at the back until I returned. So, off I went. There's  a lot I could write about this 800 year old castle and the various battles that occurred there, but I won't.
I grab my stuff and hit the road by noon. I have about 200kms to get to my next stop in Scotland and it's mostly motorway. I decide to detour east and see the Hadrian wall. This wall was built by the Roman's a long, long,...long time ago across the whole northern frontier between England and Scotland. My goal wasn't to just see the wall but to ride down this extremely crooked road I saw on a local map.
Now that ride was amazing. The road kept on getting narrower and narrower I figured I'd end up in some cow pasture. I drove by all these farmhouses and tiny villages.
Yes! This was why I decided to ride a motorcycle through Europe.
Then it was time to get onto the motorway and get to my next B&B in Scotland. Then I made a wrong turn. I find a driveway to make a u-turn and...guess what? Yep! I dropped the bike...again! Full tank of gas and I turned a little too much and was going a little too slow and down she went. Broke the front signal light too. No one around to help either. But hey! I might be a slow learner...but I do learn my lessons. I detach my duffel bag from the back seat and then I raise the motorbike (yes, I'm starting to talk like the Brits). No hurt back this time. Took it nice and easy. More scratches on the bike. Oh well!
Then onto the motorway. Then the rain came. It had been so nice till now. I made a few stops at these rest areas. I  get these funny looks when I walk into these rest stops. I look like a drowned rat. I take my jacket off and the water drips off of it and leaves puddles on the floor.
What an Amazing Life I live!
