Flag of United Kingdom  , England,
Tuesday, September 9, 2008 THAT is the reality question that needs to be answered!
The first part of my ride from London was on the main highway. Then I got off at Oxford to do a little bit of touring. I walked around town in all my cycling, pants and jackets. I was getting some odd looks. The library there has a copy of every book ever published in England. Now that's a place I could spend a lot of time in. This library was also used in the Harry Potter movies. I would have loved to have walked around town more. The buildings were all so interesting as were all the other beautiful sights in town.  Now I can tell everyone that I went to Oxford University. Now try putting that on a resume. You wouldn't be lying if you said you went to Oxford!
From Oxford I took the short route. This took me through some awesome little towns. The weather was also quite nice. No rain!  Though still quite cloudy. I had a few hours to kill as they recommend that you don't arrive at the B&B before 4 PM.
This worked out perfectly as the road I was on took me right through Woodstock and the Blenheim Castle. This Castle is quite impressive and is still owned by a Duke. Numerous "Royal" events still occur here. I spent a couple of hours here, though I did change out of my cycling boots and pants.
Then it was a short, relatively speaking, ride to Stratford-upon-Avon. I arrived at exactly 4 PM. Then I took a walk around town to see Anne Hathaway's House, the house Shakespeare was born in and then Trinity Church. There are so many neat houses in this town.
It was a very long, event filled day. Tomorrow I have a long drive ahead of me so I'm off to bed.
