The Journey starts off in Calgary...but let's start off by recapping the events that lead up to our departure.
Two weeks prior and I decide to tear down my deck and rebuild. I really don't know why I had to do that prior to leaving , but I did. Add that to my long to-do list. Let's start off with planning my European Motorcycle flights, accommodations, make arrangements to ship a motorcycle I don't even have, buy a motorcycle for my European tour, find a way to haul my motorcycle on this trip,  finish my website ( , clean/organize my garage, prune all the trees in my yard and the list goes on and on. There was at least 2 months work that I wanted to do in 2 weeks. Plus, I can't forget putting my 5th wheel up for sale.
Then things weren't going as smoothly as they should have. Delays, things breaking...and so on and so forth.
One week to departure day. Found a motorcycle. Actually I had found two. Decided on one and it was sold when I went to buy it. Get second choice which should have been my first choice because it was the better bike for my planned Journeys. There's no reason to fret over decisions because the Universe already knows what I need and should have. So there's no reason to plan either. The best laid out plans often don't go as planned because the Universe already knows what the best plan is. All you need to do is be aware of what the Universe is telling you...which isn't as easy as it sounds.
So the motorcycle is purchased and I start making the arrangements to ship it to Europe the day after I get back from this trip. Now I want to bring the bike on this trip. They sell these motorcycle carriers that attach to the receiver hitch at the back of vehicles. My bike is too heavy and so I decide to go with a trailer. That is, after I've decided that with the price of gas and the time we have to get to Calfornia that we won't be travelling with the 5th Wheel Trailer. I take a look at one model with three different styles, 1 bike, 2 bikes, or 3 bikes. I decide on the 2 bikes. I go back the next day to buy it and they sold it that morning. Guess I'll go with the 3 bike model. WOW! Works even better. Check out the picture of the motorcycle on the trailer with the two mountain bikes on each side. Works awesome. The Universe at work again.
Weekend, 4 days before D-Day! Ask Katrine to stay home one day to help out on my to-do list. About 25 items on it. Guy who sold the bike calls and tells me he forgot to give me the original seat (yellow). My first choice of motorcycle was a 2005 model that had a lot of yellow on it. The one I bought is a 2004 model. This guy has had motorcycles all his life. He's an encyclopaedia of knowledge. We chat for a long time. He provides a wealth of information that will come in handy plus an original repair manual. The Universe at work again! WOW. This is awesome.
Yesterday. Day before D-Day! Still about a dozen things on my to-do list. First thing to-do is bring my truck in to have the windshield replaced. What I thought would take one hour will take three. I walk home. One hour that could have been productive at the repair shop, as I had brought my laptop, ends up being wasted. Well, not totally. I did get some exercise. I keep telling myself not to stress. Everything will happen as it should. BUT I'M STILL NOT PACKED!
9 PM. Day before. YEAH! The motorcycle is on the trailer. The bikes are on the trailer. I'm packed. The truck is mostly packed. Time for bed. Three things on the to-do list not done but Katrine and her boyfriend can do them.
4 AM. Day of. I can't sleeeeep!  Get up. Do some yoga and meditation. Wake Katrine up. We're leaving earlier than planned.
6h06. On the road to Winnipeg.
