Up at 6a.m. tomorrow, Sunday 25th. After breakfast, a 2hr bus ride, handing a wad of cash to a Kinabalu Park Ranger, and a few stretches....... we're going up Mt. Kinabalu (4100m). It'll take two days, the bus takes us up around 1850m, and we climb from there. It'll take us in total about 18hrs to get to the top, fingers crossed. This includes a long stop at Laban Rata Resthouse (around 3300m) built on the side of the mountain. We'll eat, then sleep there til about 2 or 3a.m. and try get to the summit before sunrise. Then walk back down to the park gate, altitude around 1850m, to get the 2hr bus back to Sabah's capital city Kota Kinabalu at sea level.
It sounds horrible, now that I think about it.

So, spent a night in Laban Rata, we've been to top Mt. Kinabalu and we're back in Kota Kinabalu. We're having some laugh at each others pathetic attempts at trying to look normal walking up and down sets of stairs, or even climbing onto kerbs. The legs are unbelievably stiff.
We both like KK as it's known, not for any particular reason. Red Palm, the hostel we're in is very clean and comfortable. The bars at the waterfront are nice at sunset. Walked up to Atkinson clock tower and to a viewing point over the city, but other than that we haven't got up to much here.
