It was luke warm the first time but still gorgeous, but it was nice and hot the second time and better again. mmmm.
We arrived to Maitencillo after getting two different local buses. We'd our rucksacks squashed into the seats with us, which wasn't the most comfortable. The bus doesn't exactly stop alot of the time, just slows down to allow people jump on and off. At Maitencillo, which is really small, we were waiting for the driver to stop at the center of the town, under the impression it was the last stop. So we were about a mile outside of the place by the time we got him to pull in, and started heading back on foot. We were obviously a few weeks or months too early for the tourist season. The town was near deserted with 95% of places shut, but it didn't bother us. Got accomodation with the help of two locals who pulled in as they were driving by. They rang a few people for us.
We stayed 2 nights up on a hill in one of the "cabanas" or cabins. Really relaxing there. Didn't feel we had to be doing or seeing anything. Walked the beaches and ate. The grub in one of the only two restaurants open for miles was A1. More thumbnails ...
