Mancora-- Surfing Again!

The first night we stayed in Mancora we camped on the beach.... it was nice to be near the ocean again!

We woke and explored the town before heading out for our first surfing in about 2 months! It was a blast and it was good to see that we hadn't forgotten everything we had learned! While we were on the beach we ran into a few different groups of friends that we had made in Banos on New Year's. We quickly caught up and had some cocktails on the beach... it was one of the girl's birthday. We then headed back to the pool at the hostel that our friends were staying at and parked the car for the next few nights. It was great to be in the sun and water again!

That night Devin and I treated ourselves to a really nice seafood
dinner. It was very high end and would have cost around $300 back home but we paid just $50! Still a good chuck on change on our budget but it was well worth it!

The next day we did some more surfing and hung out with our new friends again. For lunch we had an amazing Ceviche on the beach for a few bucks. Ceviche is a dish that is in many Latin American countries, but the Peruvians are particularly proud of theirs... and they should be! That night we had another amazing dinner, seafood of course, for around $10. It was really nice to have something other than rice and beans!

After three nights in Mancora we decided to start heading down the
coast. We are shooting to be in Lima by the 18th so we have quite a
few kms. to go!

--- sorry for the lack of pictures we forgot to take some of the beach ;)
