Last night I went down to Wild Bills Bar, where Wild Bill Hickhock was shot in Deadwood and I found a great Bison Burger. Bison is much leaner than regular hamburger and in my opinion taste a whole lot better. The place is also part of a casino so I just had to play a little BJ. The gambling didn't go to well. Had a good time talking at the table with others but it just wasn't my night. On the plus side it looked like most the tables had $2 min bets. That is nice, especially when on a loosing streak.
In the morning I spent some time in Deadwood and went the the Mount Mariah Cemetery where Wild Bill and Clamity Jane are Buried. Also checked out the other parts of town a bit. Its more like a turn of the century town then what I think of as a wild west town, but still pretty neat. Headed out but I had to see Sturgis before leaving just to say I did. With out the Biker Rally (in Aug) this didn't seem like much
Headed out to Devils town and caught the rain at the state border where it was really coming down. It let up after about 20 min but stayed a drizzle pretty much all the way to Devils Tower and continued to drizzle while at the tower. This is still a truly impressive place though. A group of granite columns that just seem to rise up out of the surronding river valley.
From here its across the state to Yellowstone. I am taking the scenic route and made it about halfway to Thermoplis WY. After leaving I90 in Buffalo WY and getting on Highway 16 this became a really great drive through the Bighorn Mountians. Say great mountian views, canyon cliffs, and a pass at over 9000 ft. One thing I really liked was that they had signs at the different rock layers that stated the age of the rocks, those young earth creationist must night like this road.
After getting out of the mountians found another thunderstorm with some pretty cool lighting displays and ended the day in Thermopolis WY. Tomorrow off to Yellowstone.

. Did find a really good gourmet hot dog place, "Sturgis Dog House - Home of the not yet world famus hot dog". Had the Hawiaan Dog with pinapple, ham, cheese, and a teriaki sause - very delicious.Headed out to Devils town and caught the rain at the state border where it was really coming down.
