Woke up today to the real Midwest summer time. HOT and HUMID!!!  Started off in Kearney and went to the Great Platte River Roadway Arch that crosses over I80.  This wasn't that great.  Much more kid oriented.  I went expecting to go up and see the surroundings.  Inside the arch, only have 2 small windows that both face east.  Quite disappointing.  Oh, well they can’t all be winners.  If visiting a Midwest arch one should just go to St. Louis.

Traveled to Lincoln and say the state capitol, which was definitely the most impressive of the capitol that I have seen and I don’t think I am being biased.  This is a 14 story tower with an observation deck and topped with a golden dome.  The inside public areas are full of murals and mosaics.  This building appears to join a monument with a capital building.

From Lincoln headed over to Ashland and saw the Stratigic Air Command Museum in Ashland NE.  This is a museum dedicated to the military equipment used by SAC when it was in operation during the cold war.  Mostly deals with the airplanes.  The star attraction is a SR-71 Blackbird hanging in the main lobby.  Other than that, there are two large hangers containing several different bombers and fighters, all actually planes that were used by SAC in operations.  One can walk all around the planes and get right up to them.  Well worth the visit.

No rain today, so I am sure I will get nailed tomorrow.  Got into Omaha in time to make it to the bachelor party, which was good time.
