Where I stayed
I walked into town to do some sightseeing before my 4:15pm brewery tour of Pilsner Urquell. I climbed the 102m Church of St. Bartholomew tower, the highest in Bohemia. The steps were quite steep and I was surprised to see parents bringing their kids up the tower. On several occasions, I saw children crying as they attempted their descent
The brewery tour was quite informative but I already knew how beer was made so I was only looking forward to trying the beer. This isn't just any Pilsner Urquell beer... unfiltered, unpasteurized beer tapped straight from the oak barrels. Talk about fresh! It certainly didn't disappoint. They store the beer in ridiculously cold cellars underneath the brewery and they only serve this good stuff to employees and people who join the tour. For dinner, I went to the adjoining restaurant which seats over 650 people, the largest in the Czech Republic!
