On the 9th we got up early and 4 of us went and caught a bus to Sterling, which is pretty much in the middle of Scotland to see the Sterling Castle and the little town. Apparently its pretty! The day had very miserable weather and raining yet again... Typically i forgot my waterproof jacket! We had lunch at this little bakery that was soooo yummy! However this was after we walked in the wrong direction in the pooring rain for an hour trying to find the castle. haha - should of learn't in the last 3 months not to let women navigate the way! :-P (haha, no pun intended ladies)... We had to end up asking a local that told us to head back the way we came from, sucky thing was that the rain would just not let up! One positive of always getting lost though is that you get to see a peice of a place that you wouldn't normally get to see. Once FINALLY arriving at the castle it looked pretty cool, but typical of everywhere in the UK, you had to pay heaps to get in. 8 Pounds!! It had alot of interesting rooms and stuff in it which i learn alot about Scotish History and from the top of the castle you had a clear view of the William Wallis memorial in the distance. Its an old school run down tower, the view was pretty good as its right on top of the hill and you can see the green valley's so perfectly in all directions. Funniest thing about the day was trying to remember what Atreyu's horse name was in the Never Ending Story, which we came up with about a million absolute hillarious alternatives as to what it 'could' be. The closest guess was "Ajax" (yes the dish washing liquid) that same suggested, which we found later on that it was actually "Artax".
The town of Stirling had so much characterstic about it. So many buildings, walls and roads were build of very old stone, and gave such a beautiful old medievil feel when walking around. It was like going back a few centuries...
That bus ride home seemed like it took forever and i slept a good few hours untill i was slapped to wake up to change bus, haha.
Well back home to watch ... yep! ya guessed it. Most haunted (which is so funny, coz the host guy obviously is inlove with himself and has sooo much oil in his hair and always going on about hey they see little white blobs flying around, called Orbs (spirits) flying around all over the place)... Oh and the white pointer program with the famous "nick" in it!!! Now getting into more of Little Britain :-)
OH!!! AND AWESOME NEWS! Just heard from my best mates, (which are just starting their europe adventure) and my other best mate (which currently resides in Wales) that they'll ALL be arriving in Scotland on the 13th and we'll all meet up!!! - Very exciting news! I miss everyone alot...
