Before we arrived in Lago's we had this enchanting bus ride all the way there. Portugal has these pretty little villages all througout out these mountains and occassionally you see this very old bunch of buildings all wrecked and I couldnt help but wonder how old these were. jarrod got stung by a wasp in the bus on the way there so we got revenge and squished it all over the buses window.
Once we arrived in Lagos, it immediatly felt alot better than Lisbon (once we got passed all the local's harrasing you to stay in their house). We walked around, had an awesome local meal once we found the town centre and then rocked up at the HI hostel we found and it happened to have some rooms vacant so we booked in. We headed back down to look around the town and get a feel for it. It immediatly gave the feel of a Greek Island. The atmosphere was very laid back (like one of the smaller less touristy greek islands). The town was scattered with cobbled stonned streets at random directions along with so many cool little shops and things to see. The buildings looked similar but not quite the same. The town is on the southern coast so there's great beaches! Walking around, we came across this adventure booking place where we booked a sail ship ride around the Algarves to these caves in which the Algarves are famous for. We also booked horse riding for us 3 for the following afternoon. That evening the weather was still just as good as the day. I have heard that its summer all year long in Portugal, and so far it seems to be right, because we're way off of the high season near winter right now. So in the evening we just walked around and had a look at the place, ate ice cream by the beach and settled down for an awesome dinner. When we walked around before dinner we were trying to find the beach, but for some reason we just coulndt, haha! We walked passed all these housing developments and had to trek through these baron type of bamboo land to eventually get there. It was getting dark so we sat down for a while and lapped up this awesome weather. Danielle laid back on the sand while Jarrad and myself went down to test the water. I was expecting it to be very chilly, but the water was quite warm and if i had my boardies, which are now lost, i'd definatly jump in further. We then walked down the beach for an hour in the dark back towards Lagos. We finally came across some beach side cafe / place to stay and passed it where we walked was some trailer park dodgy area which we had to run passed as the area definatly was not safe. After finding ourselves back at the main harbour of Lagos we had a drink at some cool pub which had 4 levels. Each level had a different theme, best pub i've ever seen in my life! We then were very warn out from the day of travelling so we buggered of back to the hostel to get some sleep.
