We all had no where to stay once we rocked up in Florence, and Carly had heard of some cool Villa for only 15 Euro a night - fair enough!! So off we went for the treck. We found the villa and walked through this forest path to it. The place was huge, we all checked in - well Neil capmed as he was dying to make use of his tent he'd been carrying around europe. I went into this blokes only dorm. We all met down stairs again and headed out into the town centre. We found some really REALLY delicious place to eat tea for only 7 euro for a pizza or calzoni... mmmm - can't go wrong there i tell ya! Carly and I ordered a Calzoni while Dan and Neil got a pizza. We also got a red wine that complimented our meals. I'm not a huge wine fan myself but this tasted lright actually. We had already been walking around the city for a couple of hours before actually and me and Neil had been on the beers for a while already. Not sure if your allowed to walk around the streets drinking but it was such a nice evening with us in our shorts/t-shirts, hardly any clouds in the sky, and we'd been travelling and hiking all day with our backpacks... Before we rocked up at this place, we came across this absolutely huge church which just could not fit in my camera's view. From sitting on the steps resting here for a bit we walked to the river and watched the sunset. The river was green, but everything around it was so beautiful with so much character. The bridge we crossed (main bridge in florence) had shops and homes all over it, and apparently the only one bridge that survived the war! We then had toea which i previously mentioned. The calzone was absolutely huge - i struggled to eat it all, but... i did! :oP haha!
After sitting letting our belly's digest for a while we moved on. The italians are so layed back. No rush with the bill, even if they're's dozens of pepole waiting for a table. We then went and stocked up on our alcohol supplies at this cigarette store before heading to this square we found somewhere. Neil and i on the beers, while the girls swigging a bottle of red each! haha We all got pretty 'merry' and chatted to all hours of the night watching these dogs frolick with each other on the square's grass, while laughing at these wierd ass turtles on a fountain. Right :o) We decided we were gonna head to this club called 'Space Electronica'. Carly had it recommended to her. This place was pretty cool, however had a 14 Euro entry fee! So we had a chat to the club owner and convinced him not to charge us... Well... the girls did anyhow haha! Nice people though. We went upstairs where it was happning, and went straight to the bar to top ourselves up. Instead of paying for it straight away they gave u this ticket and punched holes in it - wierd... There was a smoking room which we went in as Neil smoked. So i went in also for a chat and was alright - a bit of a break from the loud dance music, so you could talk. In their myself and Neil met some girl thats from AUstralia and had a bit of a yarn. She's with a contiki tour group with 20+ others in the club. We went out and met a few and chatted. Ended up back in the smoking room so we could talk more haha as it was too hard in the club. In there this Japanese bloke was going on about how he was on his honey moonbut in here to get away from her!! HAHA "never get married" he was telling us... I couldnt stop laughing seeming though he was on his honeymoon! Funny as guy though. Some of the contiki girls in there just kept asking us over and over how we manage to backpack around by ourselves without any guide... They were impressed for some reason? I'm my personal opinion i wouldnt do it any other way :o) Well unfortunatly we ended up at Macca's later this night (urgh!) off our tree downing a massive burger meal of some description. I remember neil and carly having a friendly argument about carly reckoning she could eat macca's 3 times a day for 30 days, and neil saying no way... then the taxi ride home neil just singing his loung's out to some 70's music. - right.. time for bed!
