today we slept in just nicely and i finally think i've been catching up with sleep. The day was nice, so the shorts went on again and we headed just 25 minutes out of Nice to Monaco! Now Monaco is a seperate country and only is about 1.9km square. The smallest country in the world. This was cool as the infamous Monte Carlo track is here. As soon as we got out of the expensive posh station (has to be the cleanest station i've ever seen) and on the road we saw these porsch GT3RS! (very expensive)! The entire city is based in a crescent shape going up the side of the mountain. Very expensive city with mansions absolutely everywhere covereing every ascent. We walked around up higher for a bit, then headed down and i had a yummy toasted tuna sandwitch in the harbour! However cost an arm and a leg. After filling our guts we walked higher up this walking track where we had an overview of the entire city. There also was the aquarium. Its meant to be the biggest aquarium in europe with 90 tanks. Inside was some pretty cool things. Sharks, sea turtles, sting rays, parana, water spiders, massive tube's of swimming salmon! Other than that i dont think it was anything to rave about. Maybe because we're from australia and we have alot of this stuff? After we walked to some park close by, which was about 200m up on this cliff edge with a beautiful view out over the sea. Here you could see massive cruise liners as they chugged by. I thought i wasn't tired, however the weather was hot, and the place had so much serenity and relaxed me so much that i fell asleep on Danielle's lap for an hour. I've been on the road now for a solid 2 months after all - haha ;-P All good though coz i'm loving it! Alright its such a male thing to do but i made us walk the Monaco F1 circuit! haha, was really wierd seeing it like this as i've raced on this in car racing games all my life and seen in on tv, but here i am literally walking the road... Along the way i saw a Ferrari F40! So sexy! I had to get my picture taken with it - haha! Also another male thing to do :o) This city is full of awesome expensive cars. Either side of the ferrari was a Porsche 911 and a BMW M3 all sitting outside Casino Royale. It looked pretty posh, however i couldn't get in as its a black tie dress code and ...i'm backpacking, haha! So yeah with all the buildings, mansions, expensive cars & absolutely huge cruise linner boats in the harbour you could very much tell this is a very expensive place to live. Anyone who lives here doesn't have to pay tax, as the king funds all public constructions and events - not to shabby eh?

We had tea (pizza again) at this restaurant right next to the starting line of the circuit, smack bang bottom centre of the harbour. We headed back to the station alot further up on the mountain and headed on back to Nice as it was getting fairly late. Once again we got back to Nice and those 2 girls were at the table with a bottle of red. I sat with them and chatted, then the hillarious German hostel owner gave me a few Euro to head up to the shop and get us 2 a bottle of wine each. We all sat down and chatted at the round wooden table all night. The crazy german guy meant to be looking after the hostel ended up intoxicated, haha! One of the other guys here was 18 and was a french kid who wanted to know english. So we're all there laughing our heads of trying to communicate in English to him... After a few hours with em all laughing about Eddie Murphy's Delerious quote's i headed to bed.

The next morning on the 26th, we were up early to catch the train to Barcelona! YEEHAW!!

Nice has been really relaxing and layed back. However its got a very expensive feel to it, but is a tidy town and a good place to experience. The weather has been really nice too. However whether i choose to ever return here i'm not sure.

********

I've been on the road for a good 2 solid months and really loving this experience here. The last few weeks i feel i've changed and relaxed alot more and definatly just going with the flow with an open mind... I'm loving this type of life! :o)
