! We turned off the main road onto this half beaten up dirt road surrounded by hedges and tree's. Where is this road leading us? Now i'm starting to think if this thing is legit or not. This bus driver did not speak english, and he eventually pulled over at this half bombed building in which he signalled to get off at. Ok now i've definatly got my wits about me. I could see by danielle's eyes she was thinking the exact same thing as me. We walked around this building and to our absolute amazement, there was this train line! haha is this for real? However the train that was waiting there looked very sketchy and i had my doubts, but we got on and sat down in one of the cabins. The breaks were shotty on this train as you could feel an unhealthy grind of metal whenever the train attempted to sotp. It stopped in the middle of no where which was wierd, but what was even wierder was when the instructor came and told us to get off the train? Righto, we hopped off in the middle of no where with no actual train station in sight, and hopped on this other train which was just waiting on the tracks. Right now i literally had no idea what was going on, and even if we were doing the right thing? Where were we being lead? Atleast this next train was a 'tad' better. From this my passport got looked at very wierdly punching my passport number in his machine and showing another instructor it while showing it to this 2nd instructor and discussing it in another language for about 2 minutes. They stamped it and gave it back eventually. When i got off the train after it arrived at this other location, i was held up so they could have another look at my passport, and put yet another stamp in there... I hadn't even left the country yet! We were then spoken to in another language and i'm gathering by the movement of this guys hand, to go in that direction. We headed off and found this bus waiting for us. We got on and took a back seat as we were starting to get quite buggererd lugging our backpacks on and off. The bus seemed to drive for ever and i thought that we're finally heading to vienna, maybe not by train, but by bus atleast now. The vegetation in this country is absolutely gorgeous. The rolling hills, the old style villages that are scattered througout are pretty. My hope was misplaced as after a few hours the same instructor was signaling us to head to the trainstation that the bus has now stopped at. Well, packs on our backs again and off we went. From this we packed into this isle of a train with about 30 other people without seats. Stuck in less than 1 metre width for about 3 hours with people constantly trying to get passed to "buy a coke!"... I admit i was getting a bit fustrated at this point. With amazement i lifted my head and we were in WIEN!!! ATLAST! 6 hours later! Bus-bus-train-train-bus-train! And to top it all of it started absolute pooring and the instructions for the hostel we obtained off of hostelworld were completely useless, so we found ourselves soaked just wondering aimlessly in Vienna for our hostel.
Moral of the story... Dont travel in Czech Republic on a sunday as nothing operates. haha!
I roll over and open my eyes to see a beautiful morning outside our wooden framed window here in Austria. Traveling around Austria has been great, but first i'll start off with the journey here. Last time i wrote i think i was ona train, but to get here from Cesky Krumlov we had to get 7 different transports. Yep... 7! We got on a bus from CK to Cesky Budejovice where we thought we would simply hop on a train to Vienna. Nope! Instead we had to get a ticket for another bus which was extremely dodgy with all the seats rotting and only 2 others on it other than us which were thinking the exact same thing. But first we said goodbye to the Aussie and English couple that we had been traveling with as well as this Canadian girl we met while waiting for the bus. This bus went literally in the middle of no where somewhere in Czech Republic. The country is beautiful, and the greenery of its surroundings just blows your mind away, however i could not find myself appreciating it properly as i found myself worry abit about what the hell was going on, and where are we going? - I need a train station
