I'm currently sitting in the hotel with a Carlsberg 10cm infront of this journal, John Butler Trio "peaches anc cream" in my ear at next song will be Manu Chao. I'm feeling so good about being on the road right now. It's nothing to do with the weed i smoked earlier in a coffee shop ofcourse :o) But its actually because i am just loving the situation i'm in right now. Its new to me and i'm feeling right at home with the whole 'travel thing' and just loving life right now.

Amsterdam, or should i say AMSTERAM!! has been so good. I love the city. The 10 euro transportation pass has been a waste of cash as you can walk all over the city on foot and you can see more that way also. At first i rocked up and was a bit shocked i admitt to what i saw and probably didnt feel very safe at all - being a saturday night didnt help i guess. But now i've experienced it properly i love this city to bits. I've had so many locals offer help for locations when they've seen us reading maps. So many tourits though but all seeking adventure as this city brings alot of fun. Amsterdam is filled with canals and mini streets with 4 - 5 story buildings throughout. Lovely to walk around. Although it may be not 100% safe in some parts if you've had a few, and maybe even walking next to canals is a bad idea in that state of mind. I couldnt live here permantly as its too crazy but a place i'd definatly be revisiting to party, with a few mates. Saturday the 6th we went walking around all day just getting used to the city and visited the Van gogh museam, which was pretty interesting, and his life sounded absolute crazy. No wonder why he's famous.

That night we kinda went pub crawling to a few different places, trying different beers. One had a bunch of 50+ year olds in it singing and laughing really loud having a great time. Another had awesome chicken burger with chips that i munched up. We did a dash to the red light district, but i think it was a bit early as only a few woman were out and still families everywhere. So we headed to another pub for a few beers before heading to one of the infamous coffee shops. Well, its like going to Paris and not seing the Eiffle tower... So into the coffee shop we went. There are bars for drinks, and alcohol (and i guess even some bar snacks if you want it) then there's a seperate bar purely for drugs. The bloke that served me was from the caribean and had been working here for 4 years, so i had a good chat with him. He told me all about different 'options' on the drug menu. haha yeah there's a menu, quite a few pages also. Everything from a simple joint to mushy soup. He went through and explained it all, - every year in amsterdam they have annual crop competitions for the strongest crop, bloody mind blowing. Well after sitting down smoking this absolutely huge joint and drinking a few Heinekens for a while we caught the last shuttle bus back to the Radisson. Was quite stonned to be honest.

Before heading back to the hotel that night after getting quite out of it, we made another run (slang for another pass) by the red light district. This time, it was like midnight and it was in full force, with buildings 4/5 stories high with women filling every window with red fluresence in every corner. Some obviously had been there for way to long as they'd just be sitting there with... very little on, messaging on their phone as it was their living room. LoL but was a very different, and some fully into it. Very interesting experience i must say. So we went back to the hotel and crashed for the night.
