From the Narita airport we went through a 12 hour flight to Heathrow Airport in London. Seemed like it went quicker actually because i was alot more comfortable this flight as the last one was way to hot. Atleast i didnt get bomb and drugged tested again like i did previously in Sydney :oP - haha, no i didnt have any drugs on me. Once i got to heathrow airport it was absolutely huge. It seriously seems like its the size of my home city Adelaide back in Australia, and wouldnt supprise me if it actually was, because it took like half an hour to actually exit the airport to the underground! Met up with Paul straight away as soon as we got through the gates and was awesome seeing him. We caught the underground to Cannon St in which we arrived in the centre of London at Monument Station. I looked straight up at all the buildings and around at all the people everywhere, and the magnitude of this place absolutely belew me away! I couldnt help but drop my mouth at it all, i was kinda mesmorised to be honest. Never have I seen anything like this in my life before. Us 3 went to the London bridge and the view towards the tower bridge was awesome with the huge city pilled up against the river Thames. Seen so many postcards and TV shows of this and it felt really wierd being here. Heh, i can definatly say my trip has started! I was so excited right now. I had been waiting for this for so long...

From this paul went to work and me and dan went back to the underground to head to Greenwich. The hostel St Christophers was based above a pub which has a pretty good atmosphere (the pub i mean) and after settling in, then downstairs for a few beers we went for a walk around Greenwich. Greenwich is a pretty nice place and we discovered some random huge ship, later i found out it was the infamous Cutty Sark which has been around for nearly one and a half centuries! Unfortunatly the weather was crap and started to rain. So went back to get some tea. Had burger and chips - it was quite nice, but i didnt realise the price as you see the Pound symbol and still kinda relate it to the aussie dollar, but heh, you have to times it by 2.4 first - eek. I kinda ended up feeling it a bit as the lady kept serving me massive stein's? or something of beer instead of pints? haha i dunno, maybe i was asking for the wrong thing. Other things that amazes me are the speed at cars in which they drive at in a small street compared to back home. Our speed around our streets are so much slower, which does annoy me a little bit so maybe this is a good thing?

Overall i'm pretty stunned by today from the enormity of it all. Its hard getting my head around how modern and old at the same time all these buildings are all together along with how huge this place is. It just extends on forever. Hey... This is london - it all happends here! I look forward to seeing more!

Untill next time...

That would of been REAL pints of beer you were drinkin'!
Not the 'Pint' of Coopers Pale which we drink back here that comes in a 425ml glass.
You would of got served a nice big one, 575ml I think is a Pint of beer over there.

Can't wait to get stuck into them beers with ya! Not long now.
Seeya mate!
