This is it... This is goodbye! Goodbye to a life in which I've come to fall in love with and dearly do not want to let go of... :-(
We awoke on a cold and crisp London morning, checked out of our hotel & headed to get lunch at a deliscious bakery I managed to find while the rest were doing laundry. Spoiled ourselves today, as I think we all deserve it. After while Dan and Matty were in an internet cafe, Danielle and myself got a few last things to remember our trip by before we departed, and a few reading materials for the plane.
...So, this is it! :-( We all walked to the underground, however this time we were heading seperate ways. Danielle and myself on the picadilly line (which was now working) to Heathrow while Matty and Dan were heading in the opposite direction. We walked through the entrance to the station and it was time! The girls shed quite a few tears, and us boys shook hands and promised each other that our next beer with each other wouldn't be too far away & that we will be on the road travelling together sooner than we know it! We wished Matty and Dan best of luck with their journey that lay's before them, and they wished us luck with our trip back home. As we walked through the ticket barrier, down the stairs, that was it... We we're gone... Poor Danielle was in tears... She will miss her best mate (the other Danielle) and I think this whole trip has effected her heaps as well. Once we boarded the train we went to the back of the carrage and not a word was said the entire trip. I think we were both doing everything we could to hold back our tears! I know I was. All I could do was stare out the window as the London suburbs flew before my eyes on the way to Heathrow and concentrate my hardest on not breaking down. All I could think about was everything I've just been through, the good times, the bad times, the huge distance travelled, all the wonderful people I've met along the way, the magical things I've seen & experienced, the foreign food and culture I induldged in but most of all - The feeling of having everything I own on my back, on the way to a land I've never seen with no idea where I'll be spending the night ...Life on the road! It was all coming to an end, even if it is temporary as I promise myself this is not the end of it! However for now it was Goodbye to it all, and there is no way I was remotely ready to say Goodbye.
A very sad fairwell :-(
