If anything the weather was worse than yesterday, much more misty and overcast, and when we arrived at Marshfield Station it was almost impossible to make out the train! Once underway the wind kept the mist swirling so that we had periods of completely clear views, as well as times when we could hardly see a thing. The mountain is claimed to have the worst weather in the US.
We arrived at the top in one of the misty periods and couldn't see anything, but while we were walking about it suddenly cleared and we could make out the other mountains of the Appalachian Range. The views were awesome.
On our way back to the campground we stopped at Fabyans Station for one of the Conway Scenic Railroad's locomotives to cross the road. We'll be riding that one tomorrow.
