In 1929 Henry Ford created Greenfield Village. He relocated and preserved an authentic collection of buildings into an American village where today farmers, artisans, inventors, writers, shopkeepers and railroad workers carry out their daily tasks.  Transportation around the village is provided by the steam train, Model T Fords, or the horsedrawn omnibus (for an extra charge).  They have one of the few working roundhouses in the US where the steam trains that run around the village are serviced and housed, and restoration work is also being carried out on another locomotive.

In the museum there are not only Ford's but many other makes of car, as well as railroad stock, aircraft, farm machinery, pump engines, furniture, and Titanic artificats.

We walked around the village until it got too hot, and just made it into the museum before another storm started.  It's a great day out, a very interesting experience, the only downside is the cost.  There is no 'combo' ticket so you have to pay for each attraction which is very expensive, and then pay to ride the transport and the carousel.  If you were a family it would probably be cheaper to go to Disneyland!

Once again it has been really hot, reaching nearly 40C, and we have had early morning thunderstorms, with torrential rain and winds.  When we left the Henry Ford museum it was raining heavily once again, so we headed back to the campsite.
