There seems to be lots of trees in Missouri; as we travelled from St Louis to Branson all we seemed to see were trees.  We came to Branson to ride the Scenic Railway, and all we saw were more trees!

We had a walk around the old Downtown Branson, which you have to go up hill to get to, then we walked down the hill to Uptown - very confusing.

We drove out to see Table Rock Dam and Lake.  The area around the lake is very pretty, ideal for boating and fishing.  On the way back we drove through the main part of Branson which is very like Blackpool in the UK, lots of theme parks and theaters with all day musical shows.

Branson was made popular, first by visitors to Marble Cave, and then by Harold Bell Wright who wrote "The Shepherd of the Hills", the fourth most widely read book in publishing history.

The campsite is run by the city, and is right alongside the White River; it's very basic but has been OK for a couple of nights stay.

Awe, you made it! Don't seem to remember there being so many trees - i remember Toby & I thinking the trees would never stop at one point - just days and days, but it wasn't in Missouri. Anyhow - I hope you enjoyed a taste of where some of my family is from!
