I have a new family.
Two days ago I moved in with the Barallat-Perez family. In exchange for giving Javier 12, Christina 10, and Pablo 7, three hours of lessons a day, mon-fri, Maria and Jorge are giving me a free place to stay and food. The other Maria in the house, their nanny from Ecuador, takes care of the kids otherwise so it´s a great deal. Now I only need a few lessons a day outside the house to cover my other expenses, transportation, communications and liquid refreshments. Oh, and Moratalaz is the name of the area of Madrid I live in now.
I have found a great group of people to hang with. Volleyball on Sundays, basketball on Mondays, futbol on Tuesdays and Fridays and ultimate frisbee on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Needless to say I´ll be in great shape when I get back.
I forgot to mention something in the last update. In addition to all I learned on the worksite, I picked up a few things about daily Italian life. I only managed to pick up a few words, but I know some Italian sign language now. For instance, did you know that if you are driving in traffic and the light at the intersection turns green, when someone slaps their forearm and punches at the car in front of them it means, "Please go, I´m prepared to continue driving now and your hesitation is prohibiting my progression, thank you very much for your cooperation." Well, more or less.
Thanks as always for checking on me, ciao.
