I had a quiz today in Islam.  It was only six questions and we had to use a scantron to bubble in our answers.  What a waste of paper but I don't blame him for not wanting to grade them when he could be outside sunbathing instead with the time he saved!  I had my energy class at three and we talked about the current ways that the US is using renewable energy.  It's a really small portion of all the energy we use so we have a lot of room for improvement!  After class I met up with my extended family for ice cream on deck seven.  We sat around and chatted for a while and I got to meet a new sister from Ohio.  Our sister from Alaska talked a lot because we had many questions about life in Alaska!  She said that they never cancel school because of the weather but that if its colder that 20 below then its kind of an understanding between faculty and students that class is optional.  She would probably get a good laugh knowing SC closes school because of a little ice!  Afterwards I ran on the elliptical and then went to watch Heather's volleyball game.  It was not as close as the last one I watched.  In fact, it was more like a massacre... it reminded me of David vs. Goliath ... but this time with the goliaths winning!  I think everyone but one guy on Heathers team is over six feet...including heather and the other girl on her team that plays volleyball at her school.  I decided to try calling my mom after the game and thought that it would be a long shot to get my truphone to work in the middle of the ocean but to my surprise it went through!  So I got to talk to her and my dad for a while before heading to dinner.  It was definitely the highlight of the day.  We had our cultural preport meeting at 8 tonight but about twenty minutes before it started I heard a knock on my door.  I thought it was going to be Ashley a little early for the meeting but it ended up being Doug, the guy I sat beside on the way to Rabat in Morocco, and two of his buddies.  They wanted to watch Grandma's Boy so I welcomed them in and instead of going to preport laughed for a good hour and half at Grandma's Boy.  The meeting was broadcasted on our TVs in our room and we put it on and "watched it...(muted)."  We didn't miss much as the majority of the meeting was spent discussing Charles Darwin's theory of evolution since it's his 200th birthday.  The meeting just ended up being another global studies class in disguise.  Those sneaky teachers!  We all decided that watching the movie instead of hearing about evolution for the hundredth time was the best decision we had made all day!  And besides, I wasn't going to run off my three new guy friends!  The ratio is 3:1 here and for a short time the ratio was reversed so I was soaking it up while I had the chance! :)  Late night I studied some for my Physics for Mariners midterm which is tomorrow.  One more day till land!
