The six of us (Me, Chad, Adrienne, Anne, and Alex) got off the school bus and waved goodbye to our kids for the weekend! We hopped right on a chicken bus and headed out for a little R&R at D&Ds.
Now that we have tents, it is extemely cheap to camp there. The food is amazing and with a tab it feels free until the very end, haha. On Thursday night we ate a big dinner, drank some of the microbrew and played one of our favorite card games "Oh, hell".
Friday morning, Anne and I went running out in the village. It is so neat to see the way people live here. It is simple but nice. We went back and split a big breakfast and then went with the group to Lake Yojoa, the largest lake in Honduras. For the day, we rented row boats and rowed down the canal into the lake, which is surrounded by mountains and jungle (much like everything in Honduras!). And by "we" rowed, I mean Chad rowed me and Adrienne and Nathan rowed Alex and Anne! It is not easy! I tried my best but I think we stayed in one place the whole time.
After we went to bed, it started pouring down rain. Unfortunately our tent was a good old Honduran special so it was definately leaky! We ended up crashing Anne, Nathan, and Alex`s cabin in the middle of the night. Turns out, it rained 8 inches and was still going when we left this morning. We had been planning on going to the waterfall again today because it is Anne`s last weekend, but it was cold and wet so we just came back to Cofradia instead.
