This week was one of the best so far.  My kids are finally starting to accept me as an authority and I have implemented a new incentive system.  I set up a seating chart and each table has a separate color (yellow, purple, and green) and the table is basically their team.  When I tell them to sit down or be quiet, the first table to do so gets a star on the board.  At the end of the day we count up the stars and that table gets stickers.  I am hoping that they will encourage each other to be good because if one kid isnīt doing what he is supposed to then his whole table misses out.  Most of the kids accepted the seating chart much better than I had anticipated and they had no problem remembering which seat is theirs.
This week I also introduced play dough, which was a big hit!  I have been waiting because I wasnīt sure if they could handle it or if I could handle them with play dough!  However, I was pleasantly surprised at how long it keeps their attention and how creative they are with it Thank You!!!
Thank You!!!
.  Each kid was doing different things with his/her chunk of play dough and each was very imaginative.  I expected them to copy off of one another but they kept to themselves.
Another fun activity was pairing the kindergarteners up with the colegio kids (grades 7, 8, 9).  We had a morning of "book buddies" where the older kids paired up with the little ones and read the kids books and told them stories.  That led into paired playtime with blocks.  Then, we went over to the colegio building and did finger painting!  It was so nice to have the help from colegio because I was unsure if I could manage them all covered in paint!  Nathan and I decided to make it a finger painting contest with the theme of Mister Nathan and Miss Claudia.  Each picture of us was funnier than the next.  We did prizes for the best individual picture of Mister Nathan and individual picture of Miss Claudia and a prize for the best picture of the both of us.  In the winning picture we were painted literally white and I was wearing a bikini and Nathan had chest hair- it was hysterical!

In addition, I have started getting crafty.  I cut off the legs of my pajama pants with a cute pattern of a bumble bees holding boquets of flowers.  I sewed little pouches and filled them with beans.  Now we have a fun bean bag set to throw into a bucket as an activity.
