This morning we left the campsite before any of the kids woke up. We drove until we got to Devils Tower! It was a huge rock jutting up into the sky caused by a volcanoe that was around it long ago. After the lava solidified inside the volcanoe, the actual volcanoe itself eroded away and left the hardened magma there. It really was a great view.
After listening to a brief story about the history of Devils Tower, we walked up to the bottom of it and climbed some of the rocks that were around. There was also a path that went around it so we walked that too. While walking we took pictures and enjoyed the great view all around us. We even saw people climbing the actual rock! Eventually we got back in Rosie and drove until around 3am when we finally arrived at our destination: Yellowstone.
