Tony, the circus sponsor from the fire department, met up with us at the station. He gave us access to the station itself and even unlocked the outdoor bathrooms at the pavilion we were parked next to. We were about to turn in when he asked if we'd had dinner. Our day had been kind of wonky - we ate an early lunch and then a mid-afternoon meal that didn't really count as dinner since we were already hungry again. He invited us back to his house (a five minute drive from us) and wouldn't take no for an answer. We graciously accepted and before we knew it, we were out on his back porch, drinking some Yuengling while his wife heated up some homemade beef stew and made hamburgers for all of us
The next morning started at 6am with breakfast at Tony's house again...haha. Scrambled eggs, more bacon than we could hope to eat, and toast with coffee met us as we walked in the door. We felt like royalty! No relaxing over food though because we needed to be back at the RV for John to get ready and out.
Tony and three of his fellow firemen took us around to three different Catholic schools (public schools were a no go again) and we had a fantastic time at each of them. Great reception, excited kids and teachers who enjoyed having a half hour off while someone else talked to their students all made for a productive, fun day. One of the schools we were at had a chapel that was built in 1741....hard to wrap my mind around!
We were only spending the morning in Irishtown and had a short amount of time to grab lunch and be in our next town, so we took Tony up on refilling our fresh water but ran out of time to do a dump. Which is unfortunate because it's been awhile (a bit too long) and the air inside the RV is...well, fragrant at times. Such a glamorous life we lead! ;)
