I went to the Melbourne Museum today. For free. I took the tram part of the way to get there. For free. I haven't spent money on anything but food since I've gotten here. The tram line around the city centre is free, and caters to tourists, because they use the old trolley kinds, and sometimes they have staff pointing out where to get off for certain sites. I started at the museum, since it was 35 degrees today. Apparently this is unseasonal, and it's going to get worse, because on Sunday it's supposed to be 41. But at least the heat isn't stifling and polluted like Toronto's. The museum was nice and cool, but I have never seen so many kids in one place. Poor parents have to find something to do while they're on their break
I decided to walk back, instead of taking the free tram again, so I could take some pictures of sites that were pointed out on the way up. But I ended up wandering around the gardens for longer than expected, because I kept on bumping into things, like James Cook's house, a conservatory, and a ridiculously good-looking couple taking their wedding photos. I really like that aspect of Melbourne, that you can just walk around and bump into interesting things. Especially for someone like me, who loves taking pictures. I took about 30 today alone, but don't worry, I won't bore you with all of them. Here is but a sampling.
