We took an overnight trip to the Great Ocean Road on 5th September. As the name suggests, the Great Ocean Road runs from Geelong along the costal road toward Adelaide. It winds past the ocean and through the rain forrests with some of the most amazing scenary in Victoria. Along the Great Ocean Road lie some of the most famous surfing beaches in Australia, including Bell's Beach where they filmed some of Point Break, and small seaside towns and villages full of surfy dudes. The first town is Torquay (unlike it's English counterpart there were nae needles or shopping trolleys washed up on this beach) which has a massive shopping complex called surf city where we plan on buying our wet suits cause we may die of hypothermia the water's soooo cold! We drove to near enough the end of the road were the 12 apostles lie (the largest formation of free standing rock stacks in the world). Our photos of this just don't do it justice. We were incredibly lucky and arrived at sunset in time to see some of the most amazing scenary, a beautiful sunset and penguins! (About 100 penguins swan onto the shore just as the sun was going down). We stayed in Port Campbell, which is unfortunately a bit of a ghost town off season, but managed to get ourselves a room/villa for $100 which turned out to be even nicer than our flat (only knicked a few things though, can take the girls out of Kirky/Paisley.....). This was the first of what I'm sure will be many trips down the road, we plan on going on our first surfing trip this weekend!!!!

Really enjoyed the photos and the stories to go with them. Keep up the good work. Dad and I think your car is a beaut. Well done Karen. If you ever give up doctoring you can get a job with B & Q.

excited!
I am so excited to see all your photos! I think both the cars are great! Claire, I am still laughing at the toyota!
It is great to to see that you both seem to be having a great time. The boy from neighbours looks nice - think you should go back there and spend more time with him and less time with fellow glasgow medics! (neil, niall, jennifer and jen!)
Missing you both loads. - Claire I am so gutted you are not here, you are missing my new flat, new car and new super stylish hair do - sob!!!
Please keep updating the photos, gives me something to brighten my day!
Lots of love,
Lyn xxxxxxxxxx
