Fun Story: Mom and Chris just barely made the train to Florence. Literally. Meaning it pulled up. Mom runs to train. Chris is still buying ticket. Mom pretends that she is having trouble with her bags so train doesn't start pulling away. Chris arrives as the whistle blows.

So Florence is a pretty city. Nothing too far above and beyond the rest of Italy though. And it is swarming with English. But I will say, the David blew me away even after having seen enough sculptures to have an honorary Art degree.

This did throw me off though. Okay, in Venice the Gelato was ~1.20 euros. In Croatia it was ~0.95 euros. In Rome it was ~2 euros. But in Florence, for some remarkable reason it was ~3.50 euros. Why Florence . . . why? Nonetheless, it did not curtail my 1/day Gelato habit.
