Where I stayed
Day trip from Bilbao

Now I know why so many people say San Sebatian has the best beaches, this place is so picturesque.  We took the early morning bus from Bilbao and hit the ground running, stopped at a nice cafe for breakfast and then climbed Mount Urgull, a small hill with a massive statue of Jesus on top.  Then we walked down and explored the old city which is not as big as I had anticipated though its crammed with tons of small tapas bars.  We walked down along the beach to the other hill at the end of the bay, Mount Igueldo, which I walked up (very exhausting) for amazing views of the bay.  THEN, back down the mountain and into the old city for burgers, tapas, and gelato.  The whole day was pretty exhausting but we got a lot done.  Jutta and I agreed we probably should have stayed in San Sebatian and taken a day trip to Bilbao but we had fun anyways.  We said our goodbyes that night and she left early the next morning for Santiago.  I went to Sanitago as well but later in the morning and on a cheaper bu though it took 11 hours instead of 8...I probably should have paid the extra 15 euros for the shorter bus though!
