So I relcutantly left Barcelona and headed west to a cmall city called Zaragoza. I really only chose the city cause it sounded pretty interesting and it was one of the few places I could find with a youth hostel. And I soon figured out why. Turns out that the World Expo was just held in Zaragoza and the hostel was created to accomodate the hoards of young people flocking to the city. Now the hostel is pretty deserted besides the few college students living there. But what a nice surprise whe I get there and it turns out that there is a huge festival going on called the festival of the pilar, lots of live music, dancing, and of course tapas and wine. I was only planning to stay in Zaragoza for a day but decided to stay a couple nights and get caught up on laundry and general housekeeping. Even rented a free bike and rode along the water front and around the main square. The Bascilica was MASSIVE, and so beautiful, great views from the top. I also met a nice Austrian woman in the hostel to have tapas with and we decided to go to the north together to Bilbao since there are no hostels there. It is only about a 4 hour bus ride and should be nice to see the basque region. It is supposedly a very independent region with a completely different language from the rest of Spain.
