Haha, success, have made it to Florence! Been a crazy day so far, had to get up at 6:30 to catch the 8:20 train, no hot water in the hostel though so I wasted half an hour waiting for them to fix it and then didnt have enough time to shower. Ran to the train station and caught the train (phew) and had a very scenic five hour train ride into Tuscany. Didnt book a room at this hostel, hostelbookers wasnt working for some reason yesterday, so I just showed up and they had plenty of room. In fact, too much room, this place is massive! Has a pool, sauna, bar, restaurant, kitchen (which Im looking forward to using) and dorm rooms that look like hotel rooms. Crazy! Anywho, Florence is amazing (I can see why Steph and Wes love Italy!), there is so much achitecture and the Duomo (giant church) is so jaw-droppingly beautiful, there are no words. Didnt spend too much time touring the city, lost my Mediterranean Europe Lonely Planet guide when I got to the hostel and I have way too much sentimental attachment to it at this point (a little freakish, I know). But hurrah, some nice guy at the front desk picked it up and returned it to me a few hours later. So now Im going to relax for the rest of the night and save the rest of the city for tomorrow. Ill catch a train to Venice on Tuesday morning, leave my bag at the bus station, tour the city, grab the bus for the airport, and fly to Barcelona. Whoo hoo!!
