I am going to warn you, this will be a rather boring entry more or less describing the short time spent in Dublin...I shall elaborate on more experiences when I write my first Cork entry.

We arrived in Dublin around 8:15 AM local time, which was earlier than expected. We had some heavy winds at our back (kind of like the classic Irish blessing...). I celebrated the new year at 5:00am Dublin time (Midnight eastern US time) with the Irish couple sitting next to me (right after eating and using the bathroom). We shook hands, said "happy new year", and went to sleep. Glamorous, I know. We came into Dublin on the East coast, which was beautiful. It's true, it's really green here. Probably because it's always raining here. Anyways, immigration was easy, and as Maloney and I step outside of the airport to catch a bus, a guy offers us a beer. He can't take it into the airport, so he offers it to us. Being that it was 9:00 AM, we declined. We begin talking to this Irish girl who is waiting for a bus. We didn't get her name, so let's call her Limerick #1; she was from Limerick. We could've listened to her talk for hours. She was terribly friendly, and gave us a great tutorial to the country (apparently in Limerick they'll stab you and then take your money) on the bus ride to the Hueston Rail Station. Took a couple pictures in Dublin, and caught a train to Cork at 11:00 AM. We were hanging out with Limerick #1 at the station before leaving, and we realized that the people here are friendly, but not polite. "Please" and "Thank you" aren't the most popular phrases, and we as Americans have the tendency for smiling where ever we go. We caught our train, saw the country side (which is absolutely gorgeous), and arrived in Cork at 1:30 PM on 1 Jan.

More to come soon,
