Flew out of a very stressful Hanoi and arrived in Vientiane (The capital of Lao) on the 30th of August. Was an interesting flight. The plane wasn't even a jet. It was a small propeller driven plane. The passengers were entirely local aside from four foreigners on the flight including the 2 of us. The other 2 were Beck from Canada and Sar from Israel. Shared a taxi with the 2 of them into the centre of town. There is so much less traffic there than in Hanoi. It was actually relaxing walking down the street.
Unfortunately there really isn't that much to do in Vientiane aside from a few Wats scattered around the city. We only ended up spending 2 nights here. Since we have a shorter time in Laos than anywhere else we've been so far we're anxious to move on to other parts of the country.
