We took the train from Chiang Mai back to Bangkok on the 12th and arrived in the early morning of the 13th. On the train, a little Thai boy in a spiderman shirt (almost all little Thai boys we've seen are wearing some sort of spiderman attire) tried to sit on Angie's lap. Random. We were expecting the 13th to be rough since we were coming off another 16 hour train ride, tired, hot, and dirty, only to have to spend the day touring around Bangkok and not being able to get showers or anything because our flight to Ho Chi Minh City was later that day. Luckily, it went better than expected and we had an enjoyable last day in Thailand.

We took the river ferry again and this time, the Emerald Buddha at the Grand Palace was open. We were happy about this even though the buddha itself ended up being rather hard to see. The grounds of the Grand Palace were expansive and ornate. It's definitely not architecture or design that you would find anywhere in the States. We also went back to Wat Pho so that Angie could see the Reclining Buddha. We hit up the Khao San Road to get a few items including dresses for Angie and I for the wedding in Viet Nam.
